MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- JLM Snow Removal and Lawn Care is, once again, offering a free service Saturday night that they hope will save lives.

For the fourth year, they'll be giving free rides strictly to those celebrating New Year's in Chocolay Township, the City of Marquette and Marquette Township.

Last year they gave a lift to 520 people. They're expecting that number to be even higher this year.

With three vehicles on the road full time and several on call, it's quite an operation, but they say they do it as a gift to the community.

"When we wake up on New Year's Day, seeing nobody got killed, it's kind of a relief for us, knowing we saved lives," said JLM owner Jim Meyers.

For a ride, you should call 226-0596.  You'll need to tell them where you are, where you'd like to be dropped off and how many people are in your party.

Give them at least 15 minute's notice, but wait time could be up to an hour.

They can drive up to eight people in one vehicle at a time.
