MARQUETTE -- It's been a successful year for the Black Rocks Brewery in Marquette as they celebrate their one year anniversary on Third Street.

The micro brewery opened on December 28 last year with what owners call a tiny operation.

They currently use a one-barrel system and have 10 fermenters in place.  But in January, the brewery is expecting an upgrade to a three-barrel station that will allow for diversity in their beer.

The owners say business is booming.

"Things have gone better than expected; it seems like despite whatever time it is economically, people enjoy a good beer, local made beer, and so we're happy for that," said Andy Langlois of Black Rocks. "It's nice that people are becoming craft beer drinkers."

The brewery will be opening this Wednesday at 5 p.m. for their celebration.
