Man drowns in Marinette County

MARINETTE COUNTY -- A man is dead in Marinette County, Wisconsin after falling through the thin ice while fishing.

The Sheriff's Department was called out shortly after 1 p.m. CT on Tuesday to the High Falls Flowage in Stephenson, Wisconsin.

The body of 69-year-old George R. McDonough from Stephenson was found by divers around 4:20 p.m. 

The Marinette County Sheriff's Department is reminding everyone that the ice is not yet safe, and that everyone should use extreme caution before heading out, especially on rivers and flowages.
