MARINETTE COUNTY, WI -- A Wisconsin man is dead in Marinette County after falling through the thin ice while fishing.

The Marinette County Sheriff's Department was called out shortly after 1 p.m. CST on Tuesday to the High Falls Flowage in Stephenson, Wisconsin.

Sheriff's Deputies, Twin Bridge Rescue and Stephenson Fire Department personnel all responded to the scene.

The body of the 69-year-old man from Twin Bridge was found by divers around 4:20 p.m. CST. His name has not been released yet.

The Marinette County Sheriff's Department reminds everyone that the ice is not yet safe, and that you should use extreme caution before heading out, especially on rivers and flowages.
