ISHPEMING TWP -- Santa chose to forgo his typical sleigh and hop on a fire engine truck this weekend. He and several fire fighters cruised along Ely, Tilden and Ishpeming township neighborhoods Saturday afternoon, making several stops to greet children and families.
The annual event is organized by the Ishpeming Fire Department.
"Kids are all excited to see Santa, and it's kind of fun for them to see Santa coming around on a fire truck, every kid likes fire trucks and they all like Santa so it's a good combination," Charlie Bleau, of the Ishpeming Fire Department, said.
Children who visited with Santa got candy canes.
