Minivan slams into MDOT truck, sends one to hospital

The female driver of the minivan was traveling southbound when she crossed the centerline and hit the plow truck, police said.

FRANKLIN TWP -- A minivan slammed into an MDOT plow truck, sending one person to the hospital.

The Houghton County Sheriff's department responded to the accident on US-41 near Dead End Road in Franklin Township around 4:30 Saturday afternoon. The female driver of the minivan was traveling southbound when she crossed the centerline and hit the plow truck, police said. She was transported to Portage Health and Marquette General Hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
