Funeral arrangements set for former Catholic Bishop of Marquette

MARQUETTE -- Funeral arrangements have been announced for Bishop Mark Schmitt who died on Wednesday.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 20 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Cathedral in Marquette. On Monday, the body of Bishop Schmitt will lie in state at the cathedral from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

He was the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Marquette from 1978 to 1992.
