The goal of the concert is to help the art programs of high schools in the Copper Country
HOUGHTON -- This Sunday is the annual Sounds of the Season concert in Houghton.
The goal of the concert is to help the art programs of high schools in the Copper Country. Jeffers, Houghton, and Hancock bands will perform along with the Hancock and Houghton High School choirs.
Each group will perform separately, and all of the proceeds from this concert will benefit the schools.
"What it does for the students is, at first, they get to perform in this beautiful place, they get to perform for a large audience which is very exciting, and then they get to hear themselves singing so it's a lot of fun," said Victoria Baltensperger, choral director at Hancock High School.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the Rozsa Center at Michigan Tech. Tickets can be purchased at the Student Development Center or online. It's $6 for adults and $3 for those 18 and under.
