Even with all the negative attention smoke shops have been getting lately in Iron Mountain, Jayz wants to give back to the community

IRON MT. -- Northern Pines Community Church has been working closely with Jayz Tobacco Outlet in Iron Mountain on a toy drive.

On Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Santa will be handing out toys at Jayz. Even with all the negative attention smoke shops have been getting lately in Iron Mountain, Jayz wants to give back to the community.

"It's interesting because we carry tobacco-related products," said Jeff Nason, owner of Jayz Tobacco.  "Sometimes people make that synonymous with something bad, and that's not my mantra. When I first came to Iron Mountain and opened up a smoke shop, I really wanted to give back to the community. If you come into my smoke shop, you'll see 'Shop Local' signs. I want to donate some of the proceeds that people bring in to our store; I want to dedicate that back to the community."

If you would like to donate to the toy drive, you can stop by Jayz anytime and drop off your toys.
