DELTA CO. -- The Delta County Chamber of Commerce worked to boost the business of local stores on Saturday, by taking shoppers right to the sales. It was all for the 'Christmas Shopping Excursion."
A group of 18 shoppers were bused around to some of the county's local hotspots. The chamber hopes trips like this will enhance business not just for the holiday season, but year round.
"We want to make sure that people are shopping locally, shopping locally is so important," Sheila Krueger, assistant director of the chamber, said.
"These are the stores we go to throughout the year for donations, help with different events; these are part of our community."
The chamber holds similar events such as fishing tournament weekends.
