MARQUETTE -- He was convicted of criminal sexual sssault, and he was to be sentenced Friday, but it didn't happen.
The sentencing of Calvin Martz, 63, of Michigamme Township was delayed, after the judge in the case granted an extension to the court-appointed attorney. Martz's court appointed attorney, Tim Quinnell, says his client needs more time to review the case files before Martz's sentencing.
Martz was convicted of first degree criminal sexual conduct, assaulting police officers and unlawful imprisonment. He represented himself during the trial. Martz's sentencing is now scheduled for Dec. 16.
