MARQUETTE -- People lined the streets of Marquette Thursday night for the city's first-ever holiday parade.

The parade started around 6:30 p.m. and made its way down Third Street from Fair Avenue ending up at the Marquette Commons.

Several local businesses and community organizations participated in the event.

The parade was led by a Marquette fire engine with Mayor John Kivela inside.

Onlookers also caught a glimpse of some U.P. 200 sled dogs.  But, the biggest attraction, of course, was Santa Claus.
