MARQUETTE -- Getting in shape comes in all different shapes and sizes, but the two most popular methods seem to be the gym and the in-home workout.
Our Facebook fans have had success with both, but which workout takes the cake? We went straight to the sources to find out and discovered that it's all what you're looking for.
If you need accountability, the YMCA says join a fitness center.
"The community's huge," said Jenna Zdunek of the Marquette YMCA. "From staff to help you to just the members, I mean, our members motivate each other, so it's that buddy system when you do pay for a membership. To be in a community setting in a gym, there's also that motivation there."
Have the motivation but lack the confidence? A fitness tape like P90X or another Beach Body DVD might be a better option.
"When you go to a gym, you're kind of thinking, well I'm not doing the moves right or I'm not using the equipment right," said Beach Body Coach Mindy Wender. "When you're doing it at your house, you can just go all out."
Short on time? A workout DVD makes exercising accessible.
"When I get to work out at home, I'm able to save so much time and be with my family and create my own hours," Wender added.
There may be a little bit of rivalry between the at home and gym workouts, but both institutions seem to agree that as long as you're working out, period, that's all that matters.
"Whatever is good for that unique person and their goals," Zdunek says. "Exercise is the most important thing, so we can decrease our chances or risk of getting chronic diseases. Exercise helps, so just move."
Turns out the best exercise choice is up to you.
