NEGAUNEE -- The Christmas spirit will be in full swing this weekend as Negaunee residents put the finishing touches on a holiday classic.
A production of "Scrooge" is being put on by the Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council. This version of the Christmas play is the version previously performed by the Forest Roberts Theater.
The cast of 40 is made up of local residents, ranging in ages from 6 to 60.
Cast and crew say it's the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.
"The music is upbeat and it's fun and it's happy and it's written really well so that it's fast, it's not as long as a full length production, but it's a little bit longer than a one act, so it moves fast so it makes it really good for kids," said Play Director, Al Keefer.
You can catch Scrooge Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. at the Negaunee High School auditorium.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for kids and are available at the door.
