Police cars, fire trucks, a marching band and even Santa Claus lit up Iron Street

NEGAUNEE -- Christmas kicked off in Irontown on Sunday as Negaunee hosted its annual Christmas tree lighting and downtown parade.

Police cars, fire trucks, a marching band and even Santa Claus lit up Iron Street, all to prepare for the big Christmas tree lighting near the band shell. It's a fun time for everyone in the family, but everyone seems to have their own personal favorite part of the Christmas festivities.

"Santa Claus and the reindeer and every cheerful holiday thing," said Mercedes Neal.

"Probably seeing the fire truck and Pioneer Princess," said Amanda Tilly.

After the tree lighting, families were welcome to pet a real reindeer and hear Negaunee School carolers, all while drinking hot chocolate.
