MARQUETTE -- The weather was the other big story Thanksgiving day, warm, sunny and a delight to a lot of people.

Families of humans and geese, came out in the morning to enjoy the beautiful weather in Mattson's Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.

Temperatures were unseasonably warm, nearing 50 degrees in some parts of the U.P.

This was all welcome news to those out for a walk in downtown Marquette.

"We're in town to celebrate Thanksgiving with our in laws, the family.  We're enjoying the weather, enjoying the city, family and food hopefully," said Ohio Resident, Jeffrey Vanderhorst.

Vanderhorst says he enjoyed his walk this morning with the cool breeze keeping him on his toes.
