MARQUETTE -- Giving to the TV6 Canathon can give you a sense of community. But at Schwalbach's in Marquette, you can also get something for your kitchen.

Schwalbach Kitchens is starting their "Cans For Corian" fundraiser. Every person bringing in eight non-perishable food items for the Canathon will receive a brand new Corian cutting board. The boards are 9" by 13" and are dishwasher and bacteria safe.

Schwalbach's goal is to give away 100 boards, meaning they'll collect 800 food items. Employees say they like to have fun while making a difference.

"We brainstorm a lot; we like to do things for the community," said owner Nate Noble.  "This is something that, as a staff, we kind of goof around with things like this. We figure if we can help somebody, we're proud to do it."

You can help the Canathon and get your Corian cutting board at Schwalbach Kitchens at 500 N. Third St. in Marquette.
