The National Weather Service reports 4.8 inches of snow in Marquette after Saturday's snowstorm. Isolated areas in the Ontonagon County received as much as 14 inches, 8 in Baraga, and other widespread snow mostly upwards of 2-3 inches throughout Upper Michigan.
As Saturday's low pressure system moves away, so does the convective snowfall, but northerly winds bring continued lake effect snow for Marquette and locally surrounding areas. Snowfall should not last long into Sunday afternoon as high pressure sets in.
Highs will struggle to make it above freezing. Most will see 20s, but some isolated areas may reach into the mid 30s. The high pressure system will make for a calm and clear night, but with lows dropping into the teens.
Monday will be slightly warmer with highs in the 30s. Skies will become progressively cloudier as evening approaches. Winds will be light out of the south with lows in the 20s.
Monday's slightly warmer temperatures are only a precursor to this week's temperatures which will reach into the 40s by Tuesday. The middle of the week will likely maintain above average temperatures with no snow in sight.
