Families came together at Westwood Mall on Saturday for some quality time and volunteering
MARQUETTE TWP. -- Families came together at Westwood Mall in Marquette Township on Saturday for some quality time and volunteering. It's all part of National Family Volunteer Day.
Those who came donated their time by making scarves for the homeless or cards for veterans and soldiers. Hospice organizations were also on hand for those who wanted to make and paint memory boxes.
"There are needs in our community that really need to be met, and it's also a great way for families to come out and enjoy some quality time together and to inspire that idea of compassion and giving back to the community," said Linda Remsburg, a volunteer.
Items were donated to several different organizations.
