Two police chase suspects arraigned in court

MARQUETTE -- Two men that led Chocolay Township police on a high speed chase to Alger County were arraigned in Marquette District Court on Wednesday.

Tyler Voet, 18, was arraigned on charges of fleeing a police officer in the third degree, a five year felony, and being a fugitive of justice.

Voet was assigned a public defender and scheduled a November 28 pretrial conference to discuss his Michigan fleeing charges and possible extradition.

The two are wanted in Waushara County, Wisconsin on burglary charges.

Christopher Smith, 20, was arraigned only on the fugitive charge and waived his extradition to face the burglary charge.

Both were also charged with minor in possession of alcohol, to which Smith pled guilty.

Both remain lodged in the Marquette County Jail.
