MARQUETTE -- Young pianists delivered the sounds of an important American experience.

Several young students brought the musical expedition of Lewis and Clark to the Peter White Public Library in Marquette Sunday.

The music and narrations come from a book by author Tom Gerou that describes the journey of Lewis and Clark and the legendary Sacagawea.

"This is one of the most important events in American history, and it is especially poignant because of the encounter with the Indians, and this expedition was, for the most part, friendly," said piano teacher, Nancy Railey.

Narrators outlined the meaning of each song as important parts of the American experience.
