Created by a local photographer, World of Transportation brings photographs from the 1860s to the 1920s

NEGAUNEE TWP -- History buffs gathered at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township on Saturday to enjoy a 3-D historical slideshow.

It's called the World of Transportation, created by a local photographer who put together photographs from the 1860s to the 1920s.  The slideshow shows off the history of transportation around the world, including canoes, bicycles, trains and cars.

"You see the photographs in 3-D, so when you're seeing an old dugout canoe, it's sticking right in your face," said Jack Deo, owner of Superior View Studio in Marquette.  "You see the people, the depth of the photograph, so it's a great way, if you love history, it takes you right back."

Deo is no stranger to bringing historical slideshows to the museum.  His previous work includes shows about local history and mining.
