More than 400 people attended and found deals on winter equipment

MARQUETTE -- With winter season approaching, many are stocking up on warm gear.  A ski and winter swap Saturday at the Lakeview Arena in Marquette offered various warm gear.

More than 400 people attended and found deals on winter equipment like boots, skis, helmets, and snowboards.  It took 100 volunteers to handle all of the gear and the shoppers.

"Well, we just got our non-profit status and now we are into doing some fundraising for our junior racing team, which is really important because we put on seven races during the year, and it's all volunteer," said MMRT Board President Christie Close.

It's an annual event put on by the Marquette Mountain Racing Team.
