Both drivers were taken to the hospital

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Commerce Drive and US-41 in Marquette Township Thursday afternoon.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Department says a car driven by 31-year-old Andrew St. Onge of Marquette was heading south on Commerce Drive when he went through a red light at the US-41 intersection.

St. Onge's Pontiac Sunbird was struck by a Chevy Blazer traveling east on US-41.  The Blazer was driven by 71-year-old John Sommers of Marquette.

St. Onge had to be extricated from his vehicle.  Both drivers were taken to Marquette General Hospital.  There's no information on their condition.

St. Onge was ticketed for disregarding a stop light.
