HOUGHTON -- A Houghton County teen, facing numerous charges, waived his arraignment in court Wednesday.

Paden Rothenberger is charged with safe breaking, breaking and entering a coin operated device, breaking and entering a building with intent and firearms larceny.

Last month Rothenberger, along with Gordon Lewis, allegedly tried to open an ATM at Miners State Bank in South Range.

Rothenberger testified in Lewis' preliminary hearing.  He said it was Lewis' idea to go and look at the ATM, and then they both tried drilling holes into it.  They were unsuccessful.

Rothenberger also faces charges of an attempted armed robbery of the Superior National Bank in Chassel last month.

Rothenberger says he is cooperating with police and testifying in an effort to reduce his charges.
