Local booster's club serves up meal to benefit high school athletics

The spaghetti feed will benefit the Ishpeming High School athletic department.

ISHPEMING -- A delicious meal and deserts brought the Ishpeming community together Sunday. The fundraiser held at St. Joseph's Church benefits the Ishpeming High School athletic department.

Members of the Hematite Sports Booster Club served spaghetti, salad and various baked goods to those who attended. The fourth annual event lasted from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.

A 50/50 raffle and sports merchandise was also available.

"It brings Ishpeming people together," Rebecca Olds, secretary for the Hematite Sports Booster Club, said.

"There are so many long-time supporters of Ishpeming sports it's fantastic; they're just wonderful people, always willing to give."

The event normally attracts more than 600 people.
