SAWYER -- A group of Marquette County residents are looking to the community to help out the children of K.I. Sawyer this winter.  They hope to raise money to renovate and reopen the Sawyer Sledding Hill, which will cost about $5,000.

They're holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser this Friday with special guest speaker Senator Tom Casperson along with live entertainment.

All proceeds from the dinner will go to West Branch Township.  Organizers say this is a fun way to help Sawyer kids.

"We all know that the W has been closed up there and really limiting what the kids can have to do any kind of activities," said organizer Cindy Costantino.  "So we're trying to have the community help themselves, help donate and participate and maybe getting something rolling for the children."

The spaghetti dinner is this Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the K.I. Sawyer Salvation Army.  You can contact the West Branch Town Hall to make a donation at (906) 942-7404.
