The 18th annual clothing resale drive had more than 100 sellers

NEGAUNEE -- Thousands of clothes were up for sale again, at Sunday's clothing resale in Negaunee.  This is the 18th year for the event at the Lakeview School gym.

More than 100 sellers have been registering their items for this sale since May.  Clothing for all, from infants to adults, was available.  At the end of the sale, certain unsold items are given away for no cost, at the "Shop for Free."

"The 'Shop for Free' is important because there's a lot of families out there that need things and can't afford them even by going to resale shops," said coordinator Jill Sippala.  "And, of course, it benefits us because it helps us get rid of the stuff, and we don't have to find other places for it to go."

The majority of the funds go back to the sellers, but a portion of the funds will go toward the school's parent-teacher partnership, which sponsors class trips and other school programs.
