LAKE LINDEN -- Witches, ghouls, and even a few zombies chipped in at a family friendly Halloween celebration in Lake Linden Saturday evening.

The ghost train in Lake Linden is an annual event that was bigger than ever this year.  Dozens of volunteers from the Lake Linden Honor Society, Houghton High School Drama Club, Michigan Tech Train Club and other members of the community make it all possible.  They spend hundreds of hours putting it all together, making the train ride and haunted house just scary enough for everyone to have a little fun.

"There was this cool dragon that has smoke coming out of his nose," said passenger Mikayla Thomas.

"Everybody who comes down here tells me what a great event it is and how much fun they have with everything decorated and set up.  I can't thank our volunteers enough," said John Emerson Berry, president of the Houghton County Historical Society.

Volunteers aged from 85 to just 10 years old.
