Repairs on water main break in Escanaba expected by Tuesday

Officials say the water is safe for drinking.

ESCANABA -- Public safety officials say a water main break in Escanaba should be repaired by Tuesday. The break occurred Friday morning at the water plant.

Officials say the plant is still providing drinkable water, however, residents should refrain from doing laundry, because the water may be discolored.

The discoloration is due to the high iron content.
