ESCANABA -- The Serenity Garden at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba is just about complete.

Bishop Alexander Sample led the public in a blessing and dedication on Friday.  According to organizers, the garden's cost would have been around $60,000, but much of the materials, funds, and even labor were donated by community members, Boy Scouts, and business owners.

A group of sisters from Peoria, Illinois were present, as were many of the individuals who donated their time.

The Serenity Garden is wheelchair accessible and is a place to enjoy nature and meditation.

"OSF employees gave me $5,000 to kick off this project," said organizer Sue Wanic.  "And I asked Ann Roman, 'Can you help make this dream come true?' and she did.  Within five months to the day, we have this beautiful garden."

The garden is located on the west side of the hospital and is filled with flowers, shrubs, and even a waterfall.
