MARQUETTE -- With the recent death of Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the Marquette Maritime Museum decided to display one of the first computers Jobs' company ever built.
The computer is an Apple One, complete with circuits and keyboard.
There are only about 40 or 50 Apple One's left in the world. The museum was contacted by an anonymous owner who felt it would be a great display in recognition of Jobs' death.
"Just to see how far the computer has come from this older one really makes you wonder, and you can actually see that a lot in the shipping industry where a lot of it's computerized, especially on the big freighters that come in," said Maritime Museum Director Carrie Fries.
When released in 1976, the Apple One cost about $600 and used a regular television as a monitor.
The computer will be on display until Sunday, October 23.
