ISHPEMING -- A project in Ishpeming is seeking volunteers and veterans to keep a living history of America's wars.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is looking for veterans to tell their stories about their military service as part of their veterans history project.  They're looking for veterans from World War II all the way to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

They are also looking for volunteers to record their stories during an interview, which usually takes about 60-90 minutes.

"The interview is recorded and then it's transcribed and a copy is given to the veteran and then another is sent to the Library of Congress and it's kept on file there, so it's kind of an interesting process," said Program Director, Amy Mattson.

If you would like more information, you can contact the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program at (906) 485-1742.
