NEGAUNEE -- The Rocky Horror Show has become an institution for the Vista Theater in Negaunee, and for the last 10 years, Halloween hasn't been the same.

"The Rocky Horror Show is about two young people who get caught up in a web of craziness with some aliens from outer space," said co-director Andy Kulie.

This will be the 11th year of the show in Negaunee since 2000.  One year the show didn't run, but it has ever since then.

"A lot of the folks who were in on it in the beginning were big fans of the movie," Kulie added.  "They would go when they would show it locally at midnight showings and do all the call backs and stuff like that, and then when the show became available, they jumped on it and they did it here and it blew up from there.  It just kind of became a tradition in this town."

"It's a cult classic movie," states actor Bobby Glen Brown.  "The play and the musical are different because of the audience participation, I always say, it's kind of like the audience is the last character that we all meet."

The Rocky Horror Show runs the October 20 through 22, and 27 through 29 at 7 p.m. with midnight shows on Saturday nights.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the Vista Thrift Store in Negaunee and Snowbound Books in Marquette.
