MARQUETTE -- Music was in the air Sunday at Northern Michigan University.

The school's music department put on a musical program consisting of performances by the NMU Choir, the Madrigal Singers, and the Lake Effect Show choir.

The Show Choir danced and sang to old school rock and roll songs from the musical called "Memphis."

"Some people that come for the show choir think it's a lot of fun just to watch us," said student performer, Samantha Hawkins.  "Sometimes, not this performance, but sometimes we have people that will join in from the audience.  So it's a good time."

They hold these performances once every semester.

The NMU Choir sang different religious tunes like "Halleluiah, Amen," "Mass in g Major," and "With a Voice of Singing."
