BARAGA COUNTY -- A new program to stop bullying in the schools is being put into effect in Baraga Schools.  It's thanks to the Baraga County Community Foundation and the Youth Advisory Committee.

The students involved with the committee say with the recent suicides of many bullied students, it's important to inform and prevent this from happening.

The committee plans to bring in speakers and also implement an anonymous program to report bullying in school.

"They first researched programs around the world and throughout the states that might have been proven effective and decided to take the best of those programs and bring them into Baraga County, and they discovered that changing the attitudes of the community can help a lot to deter bullying," said BCCF Director Gordette Leutz.

Through adult participation, they hope to change the acceptance of bullying and make Baraga County Schools a zero tolerance zone.
