NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP -- The weekly "Matinee in the Museum" has begun at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township.

Over the next four Sundays, they will showcase a series of locally-produced films, each presenting a special part of Upper Peninsula heritage.

The films will focus on the U.P. aspects of topics like World War II, lumberjack life, and early mining towns.  And new additions to the auditorium will make viewing even more enjoyable.

"We just added new seats in the auditorium, so the movie series really showcases the new auditorium seats.   And those of you who have been in the old auditorium seats know that it's a really big upgrade," said museum interpreter, Erin Merritt.

Starting time for each film is 1:30 p.m.

The museum is open every day in October from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
