MICHIGAMME -- Support for those with cancer in Michigamme where over 250 people came to see the second annual "Paint the Town Pink" fashion show.
A Michigamme clothing store donated all of the fashion items and accessories. Health vendors were present to talk about preventative measures for cancer.
Those participating in the fashion show were affected by cancer. One of them survived cancer for 15 years.
"We have a bunch of survivors in our fashion show, and it justs tells that there's hope and there's power and there's life after cancer," said Melissa Grochowsky, one of the event organizers.
"What I believe, of course, is for a woman to have a mammogram, yearly, listen to the advice of her doctor, and also do some natural-pathic health care," said cancer survivor, Judy Donckers.
The event supports Cancer Care of Marquette County, a non-profit organization which helps cancer patients.
