The fire took out a home and three vehicles

HANCOCK -- An afternoon fire in Hancock took out a home and three vehicles Saturday.

Firefighters responded to the home at Birch and Quincy Street just after 3:30 p.m.

It took them over an hour to control the blaze, which witnesses say began at the rear of the structure.  The home is a total loss, but its two inhabitants escaped safely, and adjacent structures were protected.
