CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- Last week's stormy weather may be over, but the cleanup of the damage it caused is not. Crews are reporting around-the-clock hours, and phones are ringing off the hook with people asking for help getting trees removed off their lawns and homes.
Hoovers Tree Service says the cost of tree removal can range from $60 to hundreds of dollars, depending on how severe the problem is.
"Trees that are on people's homes certainly; I did one estimate, the lady had eight trees on her house, another four in the backyard, and the cost was well over $1,500," said Raymond Hoover of Hoover's Tree Service.
Hoover says that even if you have trees that are slanted due to the winds, those should be removed because they can be a future hazard.
