Friday morning, Escanaba High School students shared their homecoming spirit with residents at Christian Park Health Care center in Escanaba

ESCANABA -- This is the fourth year that the Escanaba High School football players, cheerleaders, band, and SADD group have put on the event at Christian Park Health Care in Escanaba.

The students also hosted a cookout lunch for all the residents, family, and staff.

The residents look forward to their homecoming all year-round and get especially excited for it once the school year starts.

"The residents, you know, this is a small community, and we're all connected," says activity director Cindy Liukkonen.  "And homecoming is just a huge thing, as I'm sure it is everywhere. The residents look forward to it.  They remember from their years past.  They just love it, they look forward to it."

The students said they enjoyed sharing homecoming with the residents, and some even asked about how they could volunteer at the center.
