Saturday is Constitution Day, but Friday, students at the Hannahville Indian School celebrated it, along with a 9/11 remembrance assembly

WILSON -- Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.

The entire school participated, but it was spearheaded by the civics class, who organized and produced the Powerpoint presentation.  It took the students about a week.  And they also reflected on 9/11 by singing patriotic songs.

"We tried to tie them together, how terrorism can't bring down our country," says Mark McNabb.  "That we're so important to each other, and if we kind of work together, we can overcome anything."

The civics class will next focus on selecting a president, vice president and class reps for the upcoming school elections.
