The 5th annual Car Care event in Iron Mountain is this weekend
IRON MOUNTAIN -- For those in need of car maintenance who can't do it physically or economically, you're in luck.
This weekend is the fifth annual Car Care Clinic in Iron Mountain. The event allows people who are disabled, low income, or single parents to get a free oil change and other minor car maintenance.
The event is hosted by several local churches in Dickinson County.
Given the need, organizers are hoping to put on more car care events next year.
“A lot of people I know, like my father, a lot of people out there just can't do the things they need for their vehicle themselves,” said co-organizer David Mort. “Having a vehicle is a main priority in life, and we just try and help out those who can't by helping do the oil changes for them.”
The event runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain.
