Summer may be winding down, but many people are still enjoying the outdoor activities the U.P. has to offer
MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Community Foundation funded a paddleboard workshop at the Y.M.C.A. over the summer.
The partnership between the two entities is nothing new, but this year's activity was definitely a new concept for both teachers and students alike.
"Learning how to use them safely and how to get the best exercise they can from these pieces of equipment," says Carole Touchinski, Executive Director of the Marquette County Community Foundation. "The Y.M.C.A. has also expanded their programs to make sure that people understand the benefits of playing in the water and also the dangers and how to be as safe as they possibly can."
In a collaboration with Down Wind Sports, a paddleboard giveaway will be at the UpFront & Company in Marquette on Thursday, September 29 from 5-8 p.m.
