State police responded shortly after property owners reported a scream coming from the falls

CALUMET TWP -- Tragedy in Calumet Township Friday night. 

A 24-year-old Lake Linden man fell about 125 ft. to his death off a cliff at Douglas Houghton Falls.  His name is being withheld pending investigation.

State police responded shortly after property owners reported a scream coming from the falls at 9:45 p.m.

Officials say the fall appears accidental and so far, foul play is not suspected. 

The incident remains under investigation.
