NEGAUNEE -- The NFL season's first game is Thursday night on TV6, and even though the U.P. has both Packer and Lions fans, the Vista Theater is hoping everyone can learn something from Vince Lombardi on stage this weekend.
The play, Lombardi, tells the story and the philosophy of the legendary Packers' coach through various interviews by a fictional interviewer during the Packers' 1965 season.
The production features a small cast that dives into what made the coach a legend. Crew members say, regardless of which team you like, Lombardi will teach you more than just football.
"I think one thing people can take away from this is how someone can become so great and how they can strive to get certain principles and really push them to motivate people," said Director Andy Kulie.
Lombardi runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are eight dollars and are available at the Vista Thrift Shop, Johnson's Drug and Snowbound Books.
