ESCANABA -- According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death among Americans.

Cindy Bintner has organized a walk in memory of her two sons, Josh and Bobby Bintner, who committed suicide 13 years apart.

The "End the Silence Walk" is a suicide awareness and prevention walk that's scheduled for Saturday in Escanaba.

Last year, over $15,000 were raised for Delta County awareness programs.

"They're not depressing, even though this is a very depressing subject.  It's very healing for people who have lost someone in suicide," said Cindy Bintner.  "We just get so much out of it.  We have the most wonderful community, and to see all these people come together is just very heartwarming."

Bintner said she wants people suffering from depression to know that they are not alone...that there is help out there.
