Families, fun, and fundraising were all a part of Family Fun Night at Miners Park in Negaunee

NEGAUNEE -- Games, prizes, refreshments, and music by local group Fringe Collective were all a part of the free Family Fun Night.

Donations were accepted.

Family Fun Night is the kick-off for funding for the next project being planned by the Negaunee Parks and Recreation Commission.

"On our next park, we will move on and we will do the same type of creation over here where we will have a kids area, our green space, and we will be another free park--a park where the community can come and enjoy," says Anna Mattson, member of the Negaunee Parks and Recreation Commission.  "We look forward to the ideas from the community, the support from the community for the next project."

More fundraisers are in the works.

This was the second year for the event.
