It's a chance for bikers from around the country to salute the military while enjoying their favorite pastime with other motorcycle enthusiasts
CHATHAM -- The second annual Porcupine Bash is underway at the Alger County Fairgrounds in Chatham.
Vendors, food, music, not to mention attractions like the International Bike Builders Association and Strip Club Chopper Roadhouse, are all working to attract bikers to the area while raising money for vets.
"We salute and support all of our troops serving now, in the past and in the future, and we just want to honor them and tell them that we think of them all year-round," says Robin Lindenberg of the Porcupine Press. "We're trying to get gifts for them, and donations are coming in for the Jacobetti Home for Veterans Members Assistance Fund, so we just want to make sure if they need glasses or dentures, they have the money to do so."
Sunday morning, the bash will finish with a pancake breakfast at the fairgrounds.
There are plans to expand the Porcupine Bash next year.
