REPUBLIC TOWNSHIP -- A 14-year-old boy was buried in a recently dug septic ditch on Thursday, around 10:15 a.m., in Republic Township.
The boy was playing in the ditch when it caved in, burying him up to his neck, according to the Marquette County Sheriff's Department.
The boy's father and Republic Township First Responders worked to dig him out of the ground. They were able to free the boy and transported him to Marquette General Hospital.
The boy was conscious and alert during the entire incident and complained of minor injuries.
